Benfica star Renato Sanches is reported to be “prepared and excited” about his imminent transfer to Manchester United.
Portuguese newspaper Record have a front page story suggesting highly rated 18-year-old Sanches is close to wrapping up his move to Old Trafford, with a huge deal reported to be worth around £45m believed to be under discussion.
Super-agent Jorge Mendes is fronting the negotiations for his youthful client, who has been linked with a move to United for several months.
Now it appears the deal is close to completion, with the reports in Portugal suggesting Sanches is “prepared and ready” to make a career defining move this summer, amid suggestions that the player “is fully aware” of negotiations that are entering a final phase.
United’s eagerness to invest in youthful talent has proved to be successful over the last year, with their expensive purchase of French striker Anthony Martial reaping instant rewards over the course of this season.
Debate continues to rage over who may be Sanches' manager if he does make the move to United, with the latest rumours suggesting Louis van Gaal will be allowed to see out the final year of his contract at Old Trafford.
