Whether Manchester United fans want it or not, Marcus Rashford may have saved Louis van Gaal's job after his beautiful curled strike set Manchester United on their way to a crucial 2-1 FA Cup quarter-final replay win at Upton Park tonight.

With the game deadlock at 0-0, Rashford fixed his marker with a step-over before lofting the ball excellently into the top corner. There hasn't been a lot for Manchester United fans to be happy about this season but the scintillating form of the 18-year-old has probably been this campaign's biggest plus.

The striker was thrown into the first team due to a high number of injuries in the United squad but he is now one of the club's most valuable players.

That feeling was enhanced tonight after Rashford's cracking goal and fans, journalists and former players were also quick to shower praise on the youngster after what was another stellar outing.
