WATCH - Jurgen Klopp has advice for Liverpool fans dreaming of a title triumph
Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has offered up some advice to his club's supporters setting their sights on winning this season's Premier League title.
Klopp made a special guest appearance on Sky Sports Monday Night Football and he seemed less than impressed when he was informed that Liverpool have been installed as second favourites to win the Premier League title behind leaders Manchester City.
The German was clearly not interested in betting as he enquired what the odds next to each team in the title race meant, before suggesting Reds fans would be wise to keep their money in their pockets.
"I have not done something like this in my life," he said, referring to his lack of appetite for betting.
"Where I come from, you keep your money together and this is not important to me.
"But it is better that we have some optimism mood around and pat this moment, Liverpool feels good.
"It’s not the worst table we’ve had, maybe it’s the best since I’ve been here?
"So it’s nice to see but the one problem is the number, it is six games now so it’s at an early stage which is the only problem.
"I’m happy about this but I know there is a long way to go and for sure, it is the most competitive league in world football.
"Everybody asks which is the best league and I have no idea, but that seven or eight teams think they should be top of the table or top of the league, that’s quite interesting and we all have to cope with it.
"It’s good for everybody that watches it and we have to deal with the pressure."
"Most of the goals we gave away in the early stage of the season when I came here, we had to change a few things, change a few formations and we always played against ‘specialists’ in set-pieces.
"When you play against West Brom, Crystal Palace, West Ham last year. They are unbelievably strong at this and we had to change it so it’s not about a formation, it’s more about how we react in the moment."
