Philippe Coutinho will start for Liverpool today, as they look to extend their lead at the top of the Premier League.

The 24 year old was flown straight back to Merseyside after lining out for Brazil against Peru on Wednesday night, and was a doubt for today's visit to Southampton.

Coutinho felt a tightness in his hamstrings, and underwent a precautionary scan on Thursday.

However, he has been passed fit, and will start for the Reds at St. Mary's today.

Adam Lallana will miss out after picking up an injury on international duty with England.

Liverpool are one point clear at the summit of the Premier League heading into today's game.

Liverpool XI to face Southampton:Karius, Clyne, Matip, Lovren, Milner, Can, Henderson, Wijnaldum, Mané, Coutinho, Firmino.
