Liverpool will move for Barcelona forward Pedro this summer - if they end up selling Raheem Sterling.
According to a report in the Mail, the 27-year-old is said to be tired of being the fourth man in Barcelona's three-man attack and is open to a different challenge.
While around £50m would be needed to acquire his services, he would command wages of £90,000-a-week, some £10k less than they had offered Sterling.
Brendan Rodgers has been a long-time admirer of the two-times Champions League winner and could step up his interest should contract talks between the club and Sterling break down in the summer.
The 20-year-old has said he wants to want until the end of the season to discuss a fresh contract. His current deal runs out next year.
Manchester City want to sign Liverpool midfielder Jordan Henderson this summer to boost their English contingent.
Henderson and Arsenal's Jack Wilshere are the two surprise names on City's wishlist this summer with both said to be realistic targets.
Henderson only has a year left on his current Liverpool contract but has been a valuable member of the team this season as they continue their pursuit of a Champions League spot.
Barcelona and Bayern Munich have joined Liverpool in the race to sign Roma's Miralem Pjanic.
Reports from Football Italia say his impressive form for Roma has attracted a host of Europe's elite with clubs willing to stump up £22m for his services.
