Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp favourite to sign Borussia Dortmund's Ilkay Gundogan
Liverpool have been handed a boost in their pursuit of Borussia Dortmund midfielder Ilkay Gundogan.
The Daily Express reports how Gundogan's contract with the German club expires in 18 months and he has been linked with a switch away from the Bundesliga side.
Juventus were considered favourites but it appears he will not be moving to Italy as Juventus chief Giuseppe Marotta has denied any interest in the midfielder.
That leaves Liverpool and Manchester United in pole position to sign Gundogan. And Jurgen Klopp has jumped straight to the head of the queue having successfully worked with the player before.
Kolo Toure wants to move to Real Madrid.
The Liverpool defender is out of contract at the end of the season and his future is uncertain as he ponders where he will be playing in 2016-17.
With Dejan Lovren, Martin Skrtel and Mamadou Sakho all sidelined through injury, Toure made a rare start in the first leg of the League Cup semi-final against Stoke City but is highly unlikely to be given a new deal by Klopp.
As he prepares to look elsewhere, the Ivorian has joked about moving to La Liga giants Real Madrid.
"If I can play like that then maybe I will go to Real Madrid," Toure said.
"I don't know what I'll do at the end of this season, but I'd like to stay in the Premier League.
"My kids are here and it is difficult to move. I am loving every day but God knows where I will be in a year’s time.
"But I hope it's playing football because I love it."
