Leicester could mathematically secure the title when they play Manchester United on May 1 after extending their lead at the top of the Premier League table.

Remarkably, on this day last year, Leicester were rock bottom and seven points from safety - today they are top with seven points to spare!

The Foxes beat Southampton 1-0 at the King Power Stadium on Sunday to move seven points clear of second place Tottenham, who were held to a 1-1 draw with Liverpool on Saturday. Third place Arsenal are 11 points behind but have played a game less.

The weekend's results will see Leicester made even stronger favourites with bookmakers to win the title that no-one thought was possible when the season began. But just how soon could they do it?

If nearest challengers Tottenham won their remaining six games, they would finish the campaign on 80 points. With Leicester currently on 69 points, they need just 12 more to be sure of getting their hands on the Premier League trophy.

Four straight wins would do it, which means wins over Sunderland, West Ham and Swansea in their next three games would give them the chance to win the league when they play Manchester United at Old Trafford on May 1.

Should Tottenham drop points between now and that fixture - Claudio Ranieri's side could even do it this month.
