Leicester City have offered £25m for Kelechi Iheanacho and are confident of winning the race to sign the Manchester City striker.

Iheanacho is one of Craig Shakespeare's leading summer targets and the terms of a transfer have been broadly agreed between the two clubs.

Leicester's new manager has already signed Harry Maguire from Hull City for £17m and Sevilla midfielder Vicente Iborra for £12m, with more funds to be made available for the right players.

Swansea midfielder Gylfi Sigurdsson is also on Leicester's wanted list but the Foxes accept that they face a battle preventing him from joining Everton, who are prepared to meet a £40m asking price.

The future of Leicester winger Riyad Mahrez is still uncertain, with the Algerian due to return to training today. Arsenal have talked to Leicester about Mahrez but are reluctant to pay anything over £35m - well short of the £50m price tag.

The new Premier League season will open with a Friday night match between Arsenal and Leicester in front of the Sky Sports cameras on August 11.
