LAST week marked the 25th anniversary of Liverpool's last league title, which would have been unthinkable back in 1990.

The following season (1990-91), they finished second, one of four times they have been runners-up, although they have been relatively consistent, with eighth position - twice - being their worst finishing spot.

They have finished in the top four 14 times in that period (four seconds, five thirds and five fourths), although that hasn't always been good enough to get into the Champions League.

The two 5th places, three 6ths and three 7ths means their average finishing position since they last won the league has been fractionally over fourth.
