Kenny hails injured duo

Kenny Dalglish has warned against anyone "writing off" Steven Gerrard and Jamie Carragher, who both have "a big part" to play in Liverpool's future despite being troubled by injury and illness.
"It's not an obituary for either of them,'' said Dalglish. "They still have some legs in them yet. They both have a big part to play here. I don't think Carra has ever had a calf strain in his life, but he picked it up at Stoke.
"Steven felt great last week but then got an infection (again). It's like flu. The infection isn't the same (as the last one). It's not sinister. He's not going away with England. We'd much rather have both of them available.
"The response from the players has been fantastic. It's a reflection of how strong the squad is now compared to how it was at the end of last season. I don't think we'd have coped as well without Carra and Stevie as we have now."
Dalglish did acknowledge that Father Time waits for no footballer: "Talismanic figures like (Gerrard and Carragher) are always difficult to replace, but that's part and parcel of this club."
