Ken Doherty (Man Utd fan and snooker player)

"I've supported United since the '77 Cup final against Liverpool. I was only seven at the time and it was all United and Liverpool in our classroom at Westland Row.

"I've been a season ticket-holder for the last few years, but haven't been able to get over yet this season. So, I give the tickets to (fellow snooker pro) Shaun Murphy and he gets four seats together that way.

"One of my greatest memories is being in Barcelona for that Champions League final ('99) and, of course, taking the World Championship trophy out in Old Trafford after I won it in '97.

"I'll be flying back from Newcastle this Sunday, so I'd better come back with a nice present from duty free if I'm going to sit straight down and watch the action!

"Liverpool seem to have got a new lease of life under Kenny Dalglish (right). And, if any team will get their juices going, it's United. I think we'll be looking over our shoulders a little after Tuesday night's defeat. And we still have to go away to Arsenal, so we really need to beat Liverpool now. It's probably not the ideal time to be going there. I'd say a lot of United fans will be quite wary of this. And, of course, Liverpool don't want United to win that 19th title.

"This isn't exactly the best United team ever, but they have a good spirit. Which shows you how good Alex Ferguson is. The man is an absolute hero.

"It was a silly sending-off for Vidic the other night and, if Jonny Evans has to sit in the middle against the likes of Carroll, we could be in trouble again. Liverpool did a great deal selling Torres for £50m and bringing in two for the same price. Still, I don't think Carroll was worth £35m."

FORECAST:

Liverpool 1 (Kuyt pen), United 2 (Rooney, Berbatov).
