Keane not Bent replacement
Aston Villa manager Alex McLeish insists Robbie Keane is joining the club as additional cover and not as a replacement for Darren Bent.
The Villa manager was initially reluctant to say too much about Keane following Saturday's 3-0 win over Bristol Rovers in case red tape sinks the loan, but he could not stop himself praising the Irish skipper's ability, personality and leadership qualities.
"Robbie is a very experienced player, who has got great movement and can hurt defenders," McLeish said.
"We've got reports that he looks in much better condition than he did this time last year when he joined West Ham."
Keane remains a Tottenham player, who has been on loan at LA Galaxy with David Beckham, and will now be joining his tenth club in 13 years.
