Jurgen Klopp comes up with a brilliant quote to dilute Wayne Rooney storm

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has come up with a great quote to put some much needed perspective on the ongoing saga surrounding Wayne Rooney and his Sunday night drink at the England team hotel.
Rooney issued an apology in a statement issued on Wednesday night, after he was photographed looking the worse for wear as the Manchester United star shared a few drinks with members of the public at England’s team hotel.
The storm over the incident has dominated the sporting agenda in England in recent days, with Rooney hailed by some moral crusaders as a role model who has let his nation down, but Klopp offered some suitable dilution to that argument.
“The legends drank like devils and were still good players,” stated he German. “I’m pretty sure what Wayne did wasn’t so serious.
“He’s apologised for having a glass of whatever? I really feel for the players. There’s a human being behind the kid.
“This generation is the most professional generation of footballers we have ever had.
“That’s the life we live, under a magnifying glass and in one or two weeks no one will remember this.”
Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho is expected to offer his response to Rooney’s ‘indiscretion’ when he faces the media ahead of his side’s game against Arsenal at Old Trafford on Saturday.
Reports have suggested that Mourinho is furious with the Football Association for allowing Rooney to be photographed in this manner, seven days before he is next due to play a competitive match.
