John Terry set to spend a small fortune on a massive farewell party at Stamford Bridge
It looks like John Terry is currently spending his last few weeks as a Chelsea player, with the club unlikely to offer the veteran defender a new contract when his current one expires at the end of the season.
Terry has given everything to the Chelsea cause since debuting in 1998 and it is fitting that he has decided to say farewell to his team-mates and everyone at the club with a huge goodbye party at the stadium where he was so beloved.
The Daily Mail is reporting that Terry is set to spend £22,000 to hire the Stamford Bridge pitch next week. That figure apparently includes use of the dressing room, match officials, access to the stadium screens, the public address system and a barbecue.
It's a lot different to a cake in the office and a few pints on a Friday, that's for sure but you can't say Terry hasn't earned it after such an illustrious career with the club.
He led Chelsea to their first league title in 50 years when he lifted the trophy in 2005 and he added three more league medals to this trophy cabinet, as well as Champions League, Europa League, FA Cup (x5) and League Cup (x3) honours.
