Jamie Carragher was a boyhood Liverpool fan but the chances of him taking over at Goodison Park look remote.
With new majority shareholder Farhad Moshiri said to be highly ambitious, a number of famous names are in line for the top job at Goodison Park.
Early front runners include Frank de Boer, Mark Hughes, Manuel Pellegrini, Ronald Koeman and David Moyes.
Ireland managerial duo Martin O'Neill (16/1) and Roy Keane (66/1) are also named in the betting market.
Former Liverpool star Jamie Carragher is also 66/1 but trolled the Toffees after he was asked on Twitter whether he would interested in taking over from Roberto Martinez who was sacked today.
I'd love the opportunity to take you to the championship. https://t.co/TMO8Uo4Oue— Jamie Carragher (@Carra23) May 12, 2016
