West Brom's James McClean has branded Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp 'an idiot' on account of his behaviour in Sunday's controversial 2-2 draw between the sides at Anfield.
Klopp refused to shake hands with West Brom boss Tony Pulis afterwards and explained his actions by saying it was 'not a friendly game'.
Dejan Lovren sustained an injury following a robust challenge from Craig Gardner although Klopp was more frustrated with the visitors' overall approach and criticised their style of play. Angry words were exchanged between the respective benches during the match and after the final whistle.
McClean is no stranger to confrontation himself and weighed in on the matter yesterday with strong words about the German newcomer to the league.
He feels that Klopp let himself down.
"Obviously I've got respect for the man because he did a great job at Dortmund but I think he's a bit of an idiot if I'm being honest on the game on Sunday," said the Derryman. "You can't act that way win, lose or draw. You've got to be respectful."
Unsurprisingly his take on the incident has drawn a strong response and is sure to be on the agenda when Pulis faces the press ahead of his side's weekend date with Bournemouth.
Two months ago, McClean, who has impressed on the field for his new employers, was described as 'not the sharpest tool in the box' by Pulis for making a gesture towards Sunderland fans at the end of a Premier League win at The Hawthorns.
