High-flying City get their wings clipped

Manchester City may be flying high but their sponsors, Etihad Airways, were grounded this week when their plans to fly a plane over the City of Manchester stadium were axed due to bad light.
Etihad had gained air traffic clearance for the flypast at the cost of £100,000 but plans for the stunt before last Sunday's game against Arsenal were shelved when bosses realised it would be dark by the 4.10pm kick-off.
The City fans wouldn't have been able to see the A330-200 aircraft, emblazoned with the club's name and colours.
