Former student Bolger set to realise Tangerine dream

BLACKPOOL have made an enquiry about out of contract UCD midfielder Greg Bolger, WRITES DANIEL McDONNELL.

The midfielder is almost certain to depart Belfield and has a number of options in the League of Ireland, with Dundalk prominent among his suitors.

However, the Premier League newcomers are interested in having a look at Bolger, who has been partaking in the PFAI-organised training sessions for those currently without work.

UCD would be entitled to compensation for Bolger as he is still under the age of 23.

Belfield boss Martin Russell is also resigned to losing in-demand striker Ciaran Kilduff.

"We would love to keep them, but we are again realistic that they could get offered something somewhere else and could go," he said. "We know it always happens at UCD that, as soon as they do well, the bigger clubs come in for them."

Meanwhile, Bohs' striker Paddy Madden is on trial with Burnley, and is also expected to spend time at Derby this week in an attempt to secure a contract.
