Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has announced that the club will take up the option to extend striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic's contract for a second season.
The Swedish forward finally came to the Premier League last summer after a career spent with some of Europe's biggest clubs, with the 35-year-old star hoping to add an English league medal to those won in Sweden, the Netherlands, Spain, Italy and France.
Hopes were high that Zlatan could deliver goals for Mourinho's men after the Swede struck 38 times in the league for PSG last term. However, after netting four times in his first four games for United, Zlatan has only scored four times in his subsequent 13 fixtures.
Still, Mourinho has seen enough quality to today confirm that he will extend the veteran attacker's contract for a second season.
