Chelsea are in advanced talks to sign Radamel Falcao from Monaco, according to The Star.

The Colombian striker developed a fearsome reputation while at Atletico Madrid, but his stock has fallen after a disappointing season at Old Trafford.

Yet despite scoring just four goals in 29 games for Manchester United, Jose Mourinho is still a big fan of the player, and believes he can get the best out of him.

A Chelsea source said: "Talks have been going well and Jose is still a big fan of Falcao, despite the difficult time he had at United.

"It looks like the deal is going to happen."

Mourinho also shares the same agent as Falcao in Jorge Mendes and is believed to be confident a deal can be struck this week.

Elsewhere, the Express reports that Chelsea are keen on signing Gonzalo Higuain from Napoli.

The Blues are also weighing up a move for Aston Villa striker Christian Benteke.

ESPN claims meanwhile that Raheem Sterling could snub Chelsea to join Manchester United instead.

London 24 reports that Paul Pogba will turn down Chelsea and Manchester United to join Barcelona this summer.
