The formalities of Robbie Brady's transfer from Hull City to Norwich should be completed this week once the Canaries are satisfied with the result of a medical and personal terms are thrashed out.

After a protracted saga which boiled down to disagreement between the clubs over a valuation on the player, the Dubliner is poised to secure an immediate Premier League return for £7m.

Hull manager Steve Bruce has admitted defeat in his attempts to keep hold of the versatile left-sided player.

"The two clubs have agreed a fee for Robbie. We have given Robbie permission to go and speak to Norwich. I envisage that deal to go through," he said.

"I want to thank Robbie for his efforts as he has been a terrific player for us. It's sad to see him go but most people will understand that when you get relegated these things happen."

Meanwhile, closer to home, Dundalk have completed their drawn-out pursuit of St Patrick's Athletic striker Ciaran Kilduff.

He has joined the League of Ireland champions for a fee in the region of €10,000, with both the club and Kilduff frustrated that they were unable to get the deal done in time for the Champions League loss to BATE Borisov.

Kilduff was keen to link up with Stephen Kenny again after a disappointing stint at Inchicore.

"He is able to get the best out of players and he knows how to make players work for him," explained Kilduff.

"I played for him (at Shamrock Rovers) in 2012 and unfortunately I broke my foot that year but he was brilliant with me.

"I'm happy to be working with him again and back with some old friends. The league is a small network."

Kilduff will provide competition for the overworked Dave McMillan.
