Henrikh Mkhitaryan's status as scorer of the most sublime scorpion kick of the season has been dismantled in less than a week.

The Armenian's sensational strike against Sunderland has been a huge talking point in the Premier League since Manchester United's win over the Black Cats at Old Trafford.

But Arsenal's Olivier Giroud has only gone and put that strike in the shade with sensational scorpion kick goal of his own to put Arsenal 1-0 up against Crystal Palace at the Emirates.

Alexis Sanchez picked the ball up on the left hand side and sent in a cross for the onrushing Giroud who ran ahead of the ball but somehow raised his trailing leg to flick the ball over his head and into the net off the underside of the crossbar - all from an onside position, unlike Mkhitaryan who strayed offside before finding the net for United.

Surely goal of the season?
