An error on Arsenal's official website has prompted a number of fans to speculate that Alexis Sanchez will be leaving the club this summer.

As part of the club's official unveiling of their new home kit for the 2017/18 season, Arsenal offered fans the opportunity to pre-order the strip, which goes on sale July 3.

Supporters were also given the chance to personalise the pre-ordered shirt with the name and number of their favourite player.

When Danny Welbeck's name was selected from Arsenal's current players, the striker was listed as the club's number seven which has been Alexis Sanchez's squad number since the start of last season.

A number seven Alexis Sanchez shirt was also available to purchase on the club's website.

Despite ongoing speculation around his future at the Emirates, Sanchez is still contracted to Arsenal and the error was quickly corrected on the club's website and Welbeck's number was switched back to 23.

Eagle-eyed Arsenal fans were quick to pick up on the error, however, suggesting it was the strongest hint yet that Sanchez is set to be sold.

Sanchez is yet to sign a new contract extension amid ongoing interest from Manchester City and Bayern Munich.

The Chilean did appear in promotional material for the new Puma strip, however he and Mesut Ozil were absent from the official unveiling at King Cross station due to their personal sponsorship deals with adidas and Nike respectively.
