Arsenal cool interest in Morgan Schneiderlin but must move quickly for Petr Cech
Arsenal have gone cool in their pursuit of Southampton's Morgan Schneiderlin.
Arsene Wenger has been an admirer of the France international and was expected to make a move for the Saints man this summer.
However, the form of Francis Coquelin, Arsenal's new midfield anchorman, has made him think otherwise, say the Mirror.
Wenger instead will turn his attention to other areas of his squad that need strengthening- starting with the goalkeeping position.
Petr Cech remains his top choice, but according to the Mail, Arsenal will have to move quick to land the Chelsea shotstopper.
With Thibaut Courtois replacing Cech as Chelsea's No 1 this season, it is clear the Belgian will only have limited first-team football in the near future.
That has made him consider Arsenal as a strong option, and a chance to remain in London.
Cech is expected to inform Chelsea at the end of the season of his wish to leave the club to seek regular football, but wants his next move sorted out as quickly as possible.
Chelsea would prefer Cech to move abroad then join a Premier League rival making such a move to Arsenal difficult while the two clubs' valuations are likely to be much different.
Meanwhile, Arsenal could be priced out of the race to sign Palermo's Paulo Dybala.
While it was initially thought the club would want €40 million for the forward, they have now significantly upped that price.
Palermo president Mauro Zamparini said: "Since yesterday, his value is €50 million (£36m), there are 6-7 teams interested."
