Alli gets three-match ban for red card
Dele Alli has been hit with a three-game European ban that could mean he will miss half of Tottenham's Champions League group games next season - if they qualify.
Alli suspension comes on foot of his dreadful challenge on Gent midfielder Brecht Dejaegere that earned him a red card in a Europa League tie at Wembley last month.
Players who are sent off in European competition get a minimum one-game ban and UEFA decided to add two extra matches due to the severity of Alli's offence.
Alli, who has hit top form lately, missed the final three Premier League games of last season after admitting a charge of violent conduct for punching West Bromwich Albion's Claudio Yacob.
