Alexis Sanchez's agent flies in to finalise move to Bayern Munich - report
The agent of Arsenal forward Alexis Sanchez is in Germany to finalise a €65m transfer to Bayern Munich, according to a report in Chile.
Sanchez has been heavily linked with a move to Bavaria in recent months, with the report in the El Murcurio newspaper in his native Chile suggesting talks over the transfer are ‘advanced’.
The report claims Sanchez will be paid almost €13m a year by Bayern, with Manchester City the other big option on the table for agent Fernando Felicevich and his star client.
City manager Pep Guardiola has made no secret of his admiration for the player he worked with during his time as Barcelona boss, but Arsenal sources have suggested they would not sell Sanchez to a domestic rival.
The financial package on offer from Bayern equates to wages of close to €290,000-per-week, which is substantially more than Sanchez current earns at Arsenal.
While Gunners boss Arsene Wenger has insisted his club will not sell Sanchez this summer as his contract is not due to expire until the summer of 2018, he has made similar claims about star names in previous years before they were sold.
Now it seems increasingly likely that Saturday’s FA Cup final will be Sanchez’s final game in an Arsenal shirt, with the cash windfall from his sale likely to contribute to a huge overhaul of Wenger’s faltering squad.
