Arsenal

Arsenal have missed out on Chris Smalling, who has chosen to join Manchester United in the summer.

The club are thought to be leading the race to sign Crystal Palace's highly-rated teenager Victor Moses, who is being sought by a number of Premier League clubs.

Philippe Senderos has completed a loan move to Everton, while Arsene Wenger says Jack Wilshere will be loaned out "without any doubt". West Ham, Bolton, Burnley and Twente are all interested. Derby County are talking with Arsenal about signing French striker Gilles Sunu on loan.

Bolivian midfielder Samuel Galindo has signed for Arsenal, while Sol Campbell has completed a shock return to Arsenal.

Aston Villa

Villa have recalled left-back Nicky Shorey from his loan spell at Nottingham Forest as a result of the injury to Stephen Warnock.

Midfielder Craig Gardner has joined Birmingham for around £3m, while Habib Beye has been linked with a £1.8m move to Sunderland.

However, Marlon Harewood's hopes of moving elsewhere in January have been scuppered by a broken metatarsal suffered in training.

The club have distanced themselves from reports linking them to Rangers striker Kris Boyd, and Martin O'Neill does not look likely to make any moves this window.

Birmingham City

Birmingham have completed the signing of midfielders Craig Gardner from rivals Aston Villa and Michel from Sporting Gijon for around £3m each.

Next on Alex McLeish's shopping list could be Tottenham's Roman Pavlyuchenko, who could be eased out of White Hart Lane if the club make Monaco's Eidur Gudjohnsen their fifth striker.

Birmingham are still in the race to sign Rangers striker Kris Boyd and Celtic winger Aiden McGeady, with Celtic admitting they would have to sell McGeady if a high enough bid came in. Teenage midfielder Eddy Gnahore has signed from Manchester City.

Gary McSheffrey wants to leave after struggling to feature this season. Leicester have ended their interest in defender Martin Taylor, but Newcastle could still be interested.

Blackburn Rovers

Blackburn have signed Turkish international midfielder Yildiray Basturk from Stuttgart until the end of the season.

Meanwhile, Benni McCarthy is on the verge of joining West Ham after the two clubs agreed a fee for the South African striker. Ironically, his replacement could be Manchester City's Benjani, who West Ham were also hoping to sign.

Blackburn are unlikely to sign South Korea midfielder Ku Ja-Cheol this window, while Morten Gamst Pedersen has attracted the attention of Fenerbahce.

Striker Franco di Santo has extended his loan spell from Chelsea, while Elrio van Heerden has left Blackburn after making just two substitute appearances. The South African midfielder has joined Turkish club Sivasspor.

Bolton Wanderers

Manchester City winger Vladimir Weiss has joined on loan, as has American midfielder Stuart Holden.

Owen Coyle is also believed to be winning the race to sign Arsenal's Jack Wilshere on loan, although Burnley, West Ham and Twente are also keen on a deal.

Bolton reportedly want to buy Jamie O'Hara from Tottenham for £3m - but Fifa must first rule whether he can move again this season having just ended a loan spell at Portsmouth.

Chris Eagles and Tyrone Mears could join from Coyle's old club Burnley, while the club have also been linked with Portuguese striker Nuno Gomes and Bosnian defender Safet Nadarevic.

Burnley

Brian Laws has confirmed that Burnley are in talks with Celtic's Danny Fox over a possible £1.8m deal. The left-back made his Scotland debut in November.

Burnley have been one of the busiest clubs during the transfer window, signing Stoke defender Leon Cort for £1.5m, which could rise to £2m, as well as former Manchester City goalkeeper Nicky Weaver until the end of the season.

The club have also brought in Monaco striker Frederic Nimani. The France under-21 player will move on loan at first, with new manager Brian Laws then having the option to sign him permanently.

The club are in talks with Portsmouth over extending David Nugent's loan deal, although Portsmouth are keen to cash in on the striker to ease their financial troubles.

Chelsea

Despite the temporary lifting of their transfer ban, it has been a quiet month at Stamford Bridge. A rumoured £30m bid for striker Sergio Agüero has failed to materialise.

Carlo Ancelotti is confident Nicolas Anelka will stay at Chelsea, despite rumours that his contract talks have stalled. The Frenchman has 18 months left on his current deal.

Manchester City and Tottenham are both in the hunt for Joe Cole, whose contract talks have stalled and who is available for free in the summer. However, Chelsea have blocked Juliano Belletti's potential move to Flamengo.

Middlesbrough's Adam Johnson, Serbian international Nikola Zigic. Wolfsburg striker Edin Dzeko, Racing Santander midfielder Sergio Canales and Monaco midfielder Jerko Leko all continue to be linked with Chelsea in the last few days of the window.

Everton

David Moyes has admitted his interest in AC Milan striker Klaas-Jan Huntelaar, and is in talks with Legia Warsaw over Slovak international goalkeeper Jan Mucha.

Molde defender Knut Olav Rindaroy has arrived for a trial that could lead to a permanent move, as has Hungarian teenager Andras Gosztonyi.

Everton could move for Jermaine Beckford in the summer, with Leeds claiming that the two clubs have made a non-binding pre-contract agreement.

Philippe Senderos and Landon Donovan have both been signed on loan until the end of the season. Having agreed a deal to sell defender Lucas Neill to Galatasaray for a fee of around £800,000, striker Jo has followed him to Turkey.

Fulham

Fulham defender Chris Smalling will join Manchester United in the summer after the two clubs agreed an undisclosed fee for the England under-21 international.

The club is believed to be interested in signing Egypt midfielder Mohamed Gedo, although Sunderland and Celtic are also interested.

Swiss striker Marco Streller has turned down a move to Fulham, but a loan deal for Roma's Stefano Okaka could be resurrected.

South Korean international Seol Ki-Hyeon has left the club. The winger has agreed to join Hong Kong side South China.

Hull City

Egyptian striker Mido could sign for Hull, joining his ex-Zamalek team-mate Amr Zaki in joining the club.

Hull are tracking Scunthorpe midfielder Michael O'Connor, while Celtic are rumoured to be interested in signing midfielder Kevin Kilbane, who would cost around £400,000.

The club have quashed speculation that winger Stephen Hunt may be leaving, with Wolves understood to have lodged a £3.5m bid. Caleb Folan and Daniel Cousin could both go on loan, while Nathan Doyle has moved to Barnsley for an undisclosed fee.

Phil Browns's attempt to sign Felipe Caicedo from Manchester City on loan has failed, while American youngster Freddy Adu has decided to move to Greek club Aris from Benfica.

Liverpool

Liverpool have denied that Yossi Benayoun is about to move to Dinamo Moscow. The Russian club's sporting director said a £7m deal had been agreed.

Andrea Dossena has signed for Napoli for a deal worth around £4.5m, and Andriy Voronin has ended his unhappy stay at Anfield by moving to Dinamo Moscow.

Rafa Benitez has clinched the signing of Argentina midfielder Maxi Rodriguez from Atletico Madrid on a free transfer. But he will have to dip into the kitty to sign Kenwyne Jones after Sunderland said they would not agree to a loan deal for the striker.

Ryan Babel could still leave Anfield after his Twitter outburst, with a £9m move to Birmingham looking most likely.

Manchester City

City are believed to have made a £5m bid for Middlesbrough winger Adam Johnson, but Gordon Strachan has said he expects Johnson to remain at the club.

Striker Benjani could complete a move to Blackburn or West Ham before the end of the transfer window.

Santos and Sao Paulo are in talks with City over a possible loan deal for Robinho. The Brazilian striker has flattered to deceive this season and suffered the ultimate humiliation of being brought off as a substitute against Everton.

City are believed to have offered £15m for West Ham midfielder Valon Behrami, having already signed Patrick Vieira on a six-month contract. Vladimir Weiss, Jo and Felipe Caicedo have all left the club on loan.

Manchester United

Manchester United have gazumped Arsenal by swooping for Fulham's England under-21 defender Chris Smalling for a fee rumoured to be in the region of £12m.

Winger Zoran Tosic has joined Cologne on a six-month loan, while Preston have signed striker Danny Welbeck until the end of the season. However, Wayne Rooney has pledged his future to the club, despite speculation that he might be sold to Real Madrid to pay off the club's debts.

Given Sir Alex Ferguson's continuing search for a goalkeeper, Gianluigi Buffon's admission that he may leave Juventus will ring alarm bells. The club are also interested in Atletico Madrid goalkeeper David de Gea, Manuel Neuer of Schalke, Sebastian Frey and Hugo Lloris.

Swedish teenager Rasmus Lindgran and Norwegian defender Even Hovland will join the club on trial.

Portsmouth

Avram Grant has a few days left to bring in players after the club's transfer embargo was lifted. His first move may be to re-sign Tottenham's Jamie O'Hara on loan.

David James's move to Stoke is in doubt after he suffered a calf injury in training.

Portsmouth are lining up Romanian midfielder Razvan Cocis on a free transfer, but have missed out on Tottenham's Giovani dos Santos.

Kevin-Prince Boateng could be sold to Sunderland, Nadir Belhadj could go to Sporting Lisbon or Benfica, and Younes Kaboul is wanted by Lille, Tottenham, Manchester City and Sunderland.

Stoke City

David James's move from Portsmouth is in doubt after the goalkeeper suffered a calf injury in training.

The club are interested in Middlesbrough's Gary O'Neil, but Blackburn will fight for the midfielder's signature.

Stoke could also move for Kenwyne Jones and Emile Heskey as replacements for James Beattie, who may leave the club, but an audacious bid for Ruud van Nistelrooy has failed.

Forward Richard Cresswell has moved to Sheffield United for an undisclosed fee, while defender Leon Cort has joined Burnley for £1.5m.

Sunderland

Steve Bruce has completed the signing of Matt Kilgallon from Sheffield United for a fee of around £2m and have been linked with Wigan's Maynor Figueroa.

However, another of Bruce's transfer targets, Paraguayan Salvador Cabanas, will not be moving for the time being, with the striker in a serious condition in hospital after being shot in the head in Mexico.

Sunderland are determined to keep hold of striker Kenwyne Jones, who has been linked with a £10m move to Liverpool.

Bruce is also thought to be interested in Portsmouth midfielder Kevin-Prince Boateng and Aston Villa defender Habib Beye.

Tottenham Hotspur

Tottenham say they have completed the signing of Eidur Gudjohnsen, subject to a medical. The Icelandic forward has held talks at White Hart Lane and is set to reject a move to West Ham, who had been hopeful of securing him.

Harry Redknapp is still looking for cover for goalkeeper Heurelho Gomes and could rekindle his interest in Portsmouth's David James. Kieren Westwood of Coventry, Watford's Scott Loach and Peterborough's Joe Lewis are all possible alternatives.

David Bentley could move to West Ham after falling out of favour at White Hart Lane, according to reports, while Giovani dos Santos has gone to Galatasaray on loan for the rest of of the season.

Tottenham are believed to talking to Birmingham about the sale of disenchanted forward Roman Pavlyuchenko.

West Ham United

West Ham look like missing out on Icelandic striker Eidur Gudjohnsen after Tottenham swooped for his signature. Another of their transfer targets, Manchester City's Benjani, could also go begging after Blackburn expressed an interest.

The club could now switch their attentions to James Beattie of Stoke or Tottenham's Roman Pavlyuchenko.

However, Benni McCarthy is on the verge of joining from Blackburn for around £2.5m.

Meanwhile, Manchester City have tested the mettle of West Ham's new owners, David Sullivan and David Gold, by offering £15m for midfielder Valon Behrami.

Wigan Athletic

Villarreal's Marco Ruben will travel to Wigan after the two clubs agreed a fee of around £7m for the striker, with a deal expected to be concluded soon.

Roberto Martinez is also believed to be interested in signing Swansea midfielder Leon Britton, while Wigan have reportedly joined Manchester United in the race for Atletico Madrid goalkeeper David de Gea.

Gary Caldwell, Steven Gohouri and Vladimir Stojkovic have all signed for Wigan this window. Oliver Kapo has completed a loan move to French side Boulogne, and Daniel de Ridder has joined Israeli side Hapoel Tel Aviv.

But Maynor Figueroa could be on his way out, with the Honduran reportedly going on strike over a potential move to Sunderland.

Wolverhampton Wanderers

Wolves have completed loan deals for Charleroi midfielder Adlene Guedioura and Belgian international Geoffrey Mujangi-Bia.

Mick McCarthy will make one final bid of £3.5m for Hull winger Stephen Hunt, and wants to take Tottenham's Jamie O'Hara on loan, but will need special dispensation to do so as Premier League rules to not allow a player to play for three clubs in a season.

McCarthy is also interested in Derby's Kris Commons, Guingamp midfielder Richard Soumah. However, the club's attempt to take Toulouse winger Fodé Mansaré on trial appears to have stalled.

Neil Collins has been sold to Preston for £750,000.
