Poll on whether John Giles should be on RTE's panel for Scotland produces surprising result

Senior analyst John Giles will not form part of RTE's coverage of this weekend's crucial Euro 2016 qualifier against Scotland at the Aviva.

The fixture is easily the most important fixture Martin O'Neill has faced in his tenure as Ireland boss with his side currently trailing Scotland, Germany and Poland in Group D.

RTE have confirmed that Eamon Dunphy, Liam Brady and Sadlier will be the make-up of the panel for Saturday's crunch qualifier with the Scots.

We asked you if you believe John Giles should be axed for the game against Scotland and the result was tighter than you might think.

Just under 2,500 votes were cast and 60pc of people want to see the senior analyst reinstated, with 40pc clearly happy with the alternative.
