Pick that out of the net: Chris Forrester's wonder goal for St Pat's goes viral

Published 22/04/2014 | 13:23

The 40-yard screamer scored by St Patrick's Athletic star Chris Forrester last night has gone viral.

The 21-year-old St Pats star scored the wonder goal in the 41st minute of the league match with Drogheda United.

The St Pats star is known for his love of  dramatic strikes and has already built up a catalogue of impressive goals for the League of Ireland champions.

However, his stunning strike last night will take some beating.

"It was probably a bit outrageous of me to try it, " the ex-Belvedere schoolboy admitted last night after watching the replay with a crowd of his team mates who surrounded the club's cameraman to have another look.

"I knew Dave [Ryan, Drogheda keeper] would be off his line and I knew I might just get it over him. It was off the cuff and it's not something I'd ever practise. I'm just happy it went in."

St t Patrick's Athletic won the game 4-0.
