Paul Pogba has revealed he would be happy to see France teammate Antoine Griezmann sign for Manchester City, despite turning down United this summer.

Jose Mourinho was chasing the Atletico Madrid forward this summer in move worth around £84m before the La Liga side’s transfer ban was upheld and Griezmann decided to stay to help the club out.

Before that, it threatened to turn into a summer-long saga, like the one Pogba himself was involved in last year, which culminated in an £89m world-record transfer from Juventus.

And while United may go back in for the 26-year-old once Atletico’s ban is over, Pogba he would not be upset if his close friend opted to move to Manchester City instead.

Pogba told Telefoot: "I wish for his happiness. If that is at Atletico - or at City - I will handle it. He is one of the best players in the world.

"If Zlatan [Ibrahimovic] is happy elsewhere, then I am happy for him."
