Former Shelbourne, Bohemians and Shamrock Rovers manager Pat Fenlon will take up the role of Director of Football at Waterford FC, the club announced this evening.

Fenlon left the Hoops in July and will oversee a new project in Waterford, with Alan Reynolds and Paul Cleary taking up the positions of head coach and general manager respectively.

Fenlon brings a lot of League of Ireland experience to his new job, having won five Premier Division titles as a manager. Waterford will be in the Airtricity League Division 1 in 2017.

“Being Director of Football is a new and exciting role for me and I would like to thank Lee Power for giving me the opportunity to put the structures in place to bring the club forward," Fenlon said in a statement.

"I am looking forward to working closely with Alan Reynolds and will support him and the other technical staff in our efforts to bring success to the club.”
