Anthony Stokes' anger at being sidelined by Ronny Deila spilled over onto Twitter this morning.

The 27-year-old has started just one match this season and has barely been on the bench despite Celtic's heavy fixture programme.

Following injuries to Scott Brown and Kris Commons and the suspensions of Nir Bitton and Stefan Johansen, Stokes was named as a substitute for the Europa League tie with Ajax but failed to get on the pitch as Celtic crashed out of the Europa League

At 12.15 today Celtic take on Inverness Caley Thistle in the highland capital with Stokes far from happy at being left in the stand by Deila.

“Buzzing to be brought all the way up to Inverness with the team to sit in the stands today, lovely weather for it too,” he tweeted sarcastically.

Clearly riled by a tweed from a follower he added: “Who gives a f*** about wages when you’re not playing games! It's all about playing and contributing not picking up a wage.”

During the summer transfer window Celtic were prepared to let Stokes go on loan to Bolton Wanderers but the English side were unable to match his Celtic wages.

Leigh Griffiths is expected to start against Inverness Caley Thistle with Nadir Ciftci and Carlton Cole ahead of Stokes in Deila's plans.
