The Irish Football Association has finally confirmed that the Kop Stand will be taken down within eight weeks.

Last week a preliminary structural report from engineers advised that the stand should be demolished after cracks were discovered shortly after Northern Ireland's Euro 2016 win over Finland last month.

Addressing Stormont's Culture, Arts and Leisure committee this morning, IFA Chief Executive Patrick Nelson also confirmed that Northern Ireland's Euro 2016 qualifier against Romania will go ahead as planned on June 13 at Windsor Park with 10,000 fans.

Nelson revealed that the IFA is "comfortable" and "confident" that its new plan for temporary seating can be delivered for Romania.

At present, the IFA are unsure why the West Stand collapsed and are awaiting an answer, but have stated that it is too early to speculate on the issue of liability.
