Over the weekend the Barcelona youngsters beat their Real Madrid counterparts by 2-0 and some of the feats of footballing brilliance on display were simply mind boggling.

Perhaps it's a sad indictment of the standards of play accepted and adhered to in some parts of the world, but we are unlikely to see any moments of individual magic when Ireland take on Slovakia at the Aviva Stadium tonight that even remotely compare to what was witnessed by those attending the Kids Clasico.

Indeed, the amount of people attending a game between the future stars of world’s two biggest clubs is testament to just how incredibly profound this historical rivalry is.

However, last weekend, St Kevin’s Boys amply demonstrated that future could be bright on these shores by beating another Barcelona youth side by 1-0 in the Academy Cup.

The tournament was held over the three days at St Kevin’s home base and they would eventually lose the final on penalties to the Catalan young guns. Still, beating Barca is still beating Barca.

For now, just sit back and enjoy some jaw dropping brilliance:
