Republic of Ireland striker Robbie Keane was among the goals as LA Galaxy cruised past the challenge of PSA Elite in the US Open Cup.
The former Spurs and Celtic frontman was on the bench for Ireland's 1-1 draw against Scotland in last weekend's Euro 2016 qualifier against Scotland at the Aviva Stadium on the bench.
Across the Atlantic and Keane was back doing what he does best as he had a strong hand in the cup victory, claiming the match ball as well as an assist on their way to an easy win and progression to the fifth round of the competition.
It was only keane's second start for the club after being out injured since April, but was delighted to be back among the goals.
“As a striker, it’s always important to score goals,” Ireland's record goalscorer said after the game. “Ultimately, you’re judged on scoring no matter what people say. You can do what you want for the team with hard work, but people will look at goals and assists. And since I’ve been here I’ve done that and done it well.
“Unfortunately, I’ve had a long injury and I’m not always used to not playing and when I’m injured it’s usually only a few weeks, but I was out for too long. It’s nice to be back and feeling good. I’m feeling a lot better after playing these 70 minutes and will hopefully continue to score more goals and play longer.”
