Ronan fumes at referee after stalemate

Ireland manager Sue Ronan was furious that her side were denied a penalty in yesterday's stalemate in Russia.
Russia 0 Ireland 0 - Women's 2015 World Cup qualifier
Although the Girls in Green prevented the Russians from recording their sixth home win on the bounce in Krasnoarmeysk, the result could have been so much better for Ireland.
"We definitely should have had a penalty when Diane was pulled down," Ronan fumed.
"There was another incident on the edge of their box when Aine O'Gorman was pushed in the back that also went unpunished. Still, I thought the players were magnificent against a Russian side ranked much higher than us.
"They were very disciplined and stuck to the task from beginning to end by stopping the Russian midfield from building attacks. We also created some excellent chances including the best one of the game."
The draw keeps alive Ireland's ambitions of catching Russia for second spot in the group. However, they must win their remaining three matches and hope that the Russians drop points to overcome the five-point gap separating the nations.
"I think we proved a point to ourselves and the opposition that we are a good team," said Ronan.
