Raheny United are one match away from qualifying for the Champions League knock-out stages following today’s 2-0 win over NSA Sofia of Bulgaria today.

Clare Shine bagged a brace to record the Dublin girls’ second win in the group stages following victory over Olimpia Cluj last Saturday when Shine was again the match winner in a 2-1 win.

Raheny now need just a point from Thursday’s clash with Hibernians FC of Malta to emulate Peamount’s feat from 2012 when they qualified for the knockout stages of the Champions League and were subsequently beaten by French giants Paris St Germain.

Shine bagged the first today right on the half-time whistle and she sealed a memorable win in the 50th minute.
