Milk Cup descends into chaos as Northern Ireland player receives a kick to the head

Published 31/07/2014 | 13:04

A Milk Cup match descended into chaos yesterday when a Northern Ireland player received a vicious kick to the head in a mass brawl.

Northern Ireland U-19s were beating Mexico 2-1 in the second half of the match when the two teams clashed.

During the melee in Coleraine, one Northern Ireland player ended up on the ground before a Mexican ran over and aimed a savage kick to the head.

Four players were sent off during the match - three for Mexico and one for Northern Ireland.

Northern Ireland manager Stephen Craigan said that he was left "disgusted" by the scenes.
