Jose Mourinho looks to have made up his mind on Bastian Schweinsteiger once and for all

Jose Mourinho has left Bastian Schweinsteiger out of the Man United squad for the upcoming Europa League group stage, the club has announced.

Yesterday saw the German named in Man United's Premier League squad for this season, offering the Bayern Munich legend a glimmer of hope that the Special One had changed his mind about Schweinsteiger's role in the team.

However, just as quickly it appears that Mourinho has ended any chance the World Cup winner had of playing a meaningful part in United's season by omitting him from the Europa League squad.

With six European fixtures coming up, there is ample time for the United manager to rotate his players, but it appears that yesterday's inclusion in the league squad was more precautionary than a vote of confidence.

Last week, Mourinho said that Paul Pogba, Marouane Fellaini, Ander Herrera and Michael Carrick were all ahead of Schweinsteiger in the midfield pecking order.
