Manchester United recruit Lee O'Connor was among the goals as Ireland's U-17s beat Slovenia 3-1 in yesterday's friendly in Brdo.

Cork native Adam Idah netted the first of his brace after just four minutes, chipping the goalkeeper after being expertly released into space by Rowan Roache.

O'Connor doubled the lead with a brilliant finish on 27 minutes before Dario Kolobari halved the deficit on the stroke of half-time.

Idah bagged Ireland's third with 10 minutes left.

The nations meet again tomorrow in the second part of the double-header.
