Barcelona defender Gerard Pique looks set to face stern disciplinary measures after a foul-mouthed rant at match officials last night.

The former Manchester United defender was red-carded during the second leg of the Spanish Super Cup, a game the Catalans drew 1-1 on the night against Bilbao, but were 4-0 down from the first leg.

Luis Enrique's side were given a glimmer of hope when they took a 1-0 lead before the break, but the dismissal of the centre-back ensured there was to be no fairy-tale second half.

Pique took aim at the assistant referee, screaming "I s*** on your w**** of a mother" in his face as he raged over the decision before being pulled away by teammates.

Spanish media are reporting that Pique could be landed with a 12-game ban for his actions.

Aritz Aduriz, the hat-trick hero in the firt leg, scored late-on for bilbao to seal their first trophy for 31 years.
