Former Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers and his estranged wife Susan have agreed a settlement after becoming involved in a dispute over money in a family court, a judge has been told.

Lawyers representing Mrs Rodgers told Judge Martin O'Dwyer that an agreement had been reached at a private hearing in the Central Family Court in London today.

No detail of the dispute or the settlement was revealed.

Both Mr and Mrs Rodgers were in court.

Neither made any comment after the hearing.

Barrister Nicholas Yates, who represented Mrs Rodgers, today announced the settlement to Judge O'Dwyer.

Barrister Patrick Chamberlayne QC, who represented Mr Rodgers, confirmed the agreement.

News of the dispute had emerged in May after an earlier court hearing.

A spokeswoman for law firm Vardags, which represented Mrs Rodgers, had said in May that the Rodgers' relationship had broken down.

She had said the couple had been together for more than 20 years and married for more than 10 years.

A spokesman for law firm JMW Solicitors, which represented Mr Rodgers, had said in May that Mr Rodgers wanted his family's privacy to be respected.

Mr Rodgers, from Carnlough, Co Antrim, lost the Liverpool manager's job in October.
