Eight-man Blackpool vow to sign new recruits
Blackpool chairman Karl Oyston has assured fans the club will have a competitive Championship squad next season despite having desperately few players under contract.
The Seasiders were forced to cancel their pre-season trip to Spain as they currently have only eight professional players on their books and are also without a goalkeeper.
The squad was decimated by the departure of 27 players at the end of last season and Oyston says offers are being made in an bid to recruit players.
"I see absolutely no reason why we shouldn't be able to recruit sufficient numbers and quality to be able to compete in the Championship," he said. "The main thing people want to see is players signing for us and I think once we get some signed, then we'll soon forget about some of the problems.
"We're finding it difficult to land some of the players we've been chasing. That's always the case, but unfortunately it's with the backdrop of not having many players."
Kroos, whose contract with Bayern has only a year left to run on it and who has turned down their offer of a renewal, is holidaying in Majorca after winning the World Cup with Germany.
