Derry City was in mourning last night following the sudden death of captain Ryan McBride.

The centre-half had played a key role in Derry's great start to the season and lined out in their 4-0 win over Drogheda United in Buncrana on Saturday when Barry McNamee scored a hat-trick.

Derry were due to host Limerick in a rescheduled game tomorrow night, but that tie now seems certain to be postponed.

Derry City - Doherty, Jarvis, McBride, Barry, Schubert, Low (Holden 78), McEneff, McNamee, Daniels, Timlin ( Boyle 64), Curtis (Kennedy 78).

Drogheda - McGuinness, Deasy, Buckley, Hyland, Thorton (McIvor 83), Brennan (McCaffrey 67), McGuigan, Kane, Elliott, Purdy, Elworthy (Byrne 58).
