'Bullsh** and spin' - Eamon Dunphy fumes at imminent FAI report into Irish football
Eamon Dunphy has launched a scathing attack on a report due to be released by the FAI tonight into the current state of Irish football arguing it won't achieve anything positive.
The journalist was damning on the Association, describing the upcoming report as "spin" and suggested that they "don't give a damn" about the Airtricity League.
“I watched the (Dundalk) game against BATE,” told 2FM's Game On programme tonight. “That match should not have been played. The pitch was grey and bumpy. It was a disgrace.
“You try to market that around the world?”
Dunphy argued that he should have been consulted for the association's interview process, while "some of the smartest men in Irish football" were also wrongly ignored.
“They’ve interviewed 190 people and they haven’t interviewed some of the smartest people in Irish football
“I’ve spent 65 years watching League of Ireland football. They couldn’t interview me?
“This is spin. This is bullsh**. A report won’t produce anything.
“You should talk to people who’ve made a commitment to the game."
