Gianluigi Buffon broke the Serie A record for the longest time without conceding a goal, which had stood for 22 years, by the fourth minute of Juventus' 4-1 victory over Torino.
Buffon extended the record - previously set by AC Milan's Sebastiano Rossi in the 1993-94 season - by 44 minutes to 973 minutes before Andrea Belotti's penalty saw him beaten for the first time in 11 games.
Barcelona squandered the chance to go 11 points clear in La Liga after blowing a two-goal lead in the space of six minutes in a 2-2 draw at Villarreal.
A 62nd minute own-goal by Barcelona substitute Jeremy Mathieu, who turned a corner into his own net, ended Barca's hopes of a 13th successive La Liga win after Villarreal striker Cedric Bakambu reduced the deficit. Ivan Rakitic gave Barca the lead after 20 minutes from close range and Neymar made it 2-0.
Cristiano Ronaldo scored and missed a penalty, and Gareth Bale also netted, as Real Madrid cut the gap to neighbours Atletico in second place to a single point by thrashing Sevilla 4-0 at the Bernabeu.
