DARREN O'DEA will miss the chance to impress Giovanni Trapattoni in next month's friendly against Norway after being ruled out for six weeks following a knee operation.
The Celtic defender, on loan at Ipswich, picked up the injury while with the Irish squad for the Euro 2012 qualifiers with Armenia and Andorra last month.
"Darren had an operation last week and will probably be out for six weeks," confirmed Ipswich manager Roy Keane. "It's a blow. He's done really well for us and he's a really good lad."
