Mulroy hits target to end Youghal hopes

Youghal United 1
Bray Wanderers 3

Bray Wanderers enjoyed their trip to the east Cork coast yesterday as they comfortably saw off Youghal United at Ardrath Park.

This was a huge step up in class for Youghal, who play in the third tier of the Munster Senior League, and they found themselves two down after 14 minutes.

John Mulroy's deflected shot put the away side in front and the game all but ended as a contest six minutes later, when Irish U-19 international Conor Murphy scored a magnificent second goal, curling home a right-footed effort into the top corner from the edge of the box.

The non-league side did threaten to get back into it when Thomas Clohessy scored before the break but man-of-the-match Mulroy added a third for Bray seven minutes into the second half.
