More fowl play from bird-brained Moreno

The player who became public enemy No 1 for kicking an owl during a Colombian first division game, has now been banned again for seven matches for leathering one of his opponents.

Pereira's defender Luis Moreno is obviously a little slow to learn his lesson, as he was shown a straight red card for kicking Cali's Pablo Andres Escobar in the stomach, as he lay defenceless on the ground after being fouled.

Just six weeks ago Moreno was banned for two matches for putting the boot into an owl that had fallen injured on to the pitch.

The nation cried 'fowl' after the bird, which was regarded as a mascot for Atletico Junior, later died from the impact.

At least this time his victim pulled through.
