A poor United performance drew criticism from all quarters, with Roy Keane’s comments touching a nerve with Lisa Carrick.
The Republic of Ireland assistant manager was on ITV duty last night in Greece as United slumped to a 2-0 first-leg defeat to Olympiakos as the former hard-hitting midfielder thought it was a poor performance with some players simply “not good enough”.
He also wasn't overly-enamoured with Michael Carrick’s post-match interview, whose downbeat manner and concise answers not impressing the Cork man.
"That interview was just like the performance: flat. He should say a bit more, have a bit more urgency even in his interview," Keane said.
"That just reflected United's performance tonight: flat, with no urgency.
Carrick’s wife took to Twitter to defend her husband with a Tweet that was since deleted.
"Roy Keane what a *** says anything to provoke a reaction..That's all..Done.."
